The Pilgrim Center is the first arrival point upon reaching the Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe and the portal through which visitors travel to reach the Shrine grounds. Inside the 12,000 square foot Pilgrim Center you will find the Orientation Room, Flores Mariae Gift Shop and Culina Mariana Café.
Helpful volunteers are stationed at the Information Desk to both answer your questions and address your needs. Brochures, a map of the grounds and other useful information are also available at the Information Desk.
In the Orientation Room, located adjacent to the Information Desk, pilgrims can view a short film detailing the story of Our Lady of Guadalupe and the construction of the Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe. The film is available in English and Spanish.
At the front of the Orientation Room stands a beautifully carved reredos screen. Icons of fifteen saints and blesseds are depicted on the screen, including Saint Joseph the Workman, Saint Thérèse of Lisieux, Saint Francis of Assisi, Saints Isidore and Maria, Saint Kateri Tekakwitha, Saint Michael the Archangel, Saint John Vianney, Saint Juan Diego, and others.
Five oil paintings in the Orientation Room are beautiful depictions of the five appearances of Our Lady of Guadalupe to Saint Juan Diego in 1531.
