Feastday of St. Kateri Tekakwitha
Monday, July 14th, is the day on which the Church honors the life and holiness of St. Kateri Tekakwitha.
The Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe honors St. Kateri in an outdoor devotional area. More than that, a first-class relic of St. Kateri, along with a first-class relic of Bl. Miguel Pro, was placed in the altar on the day of the Dedication of the Shrine Church on July 31, 2008.
Every year on July 14th, the faithful are invited to look to St. Kateri as a model of holiness and heroic virtue. One can learn about St. Kateri on our website: http://www.guadalupeshrine.org/visit/devotional-areas/kateri-tekakwitha.
Also, one can come to the Shrine and prayerfully visit St. Kateri’s devotional area located along the meditation trail, and then make one’s way up to the Church for the Sacrament of Confession and Holy Mass at 12:15pm. At the end of Mass, there will be the opportunity to venerate the first-class relic of St. Kateri.
St. Kateri Tekakwitha, pray for us!
